This is a formula created by Shi Jinmo (1881-1969), one of Beijing’s “Big Four” of most renown doctors. Containing a combination of 30 herbal ingredients, it is used to clear skin conditions, especially those with vivid red coloring, such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, and urticaria, and to promote a healthy circulatory system and maintain clear and hydrated skin.
Leading herbs include the medicinal mushroom poria—which has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and imperata cylindrica root, a plant with antibacterial and moisturizing properties—its hydrating ability is due to its natural osmo protective compounds resulting in increased intracellular osmosis (water drawn in skin cells). It also contains many other herbs including Chinese rhubarb (anti-inflammatory), peony root (antioxidant which boosts skin clarity), and safflower (anti-inflammatory and high in linoleic acid to prevent acne).
