The capsule form of our favorite remedy to stop internal bleeding or hemorrhaging and accelerate healing, Yunnan Baiyao is an all-herbal medicine famous for being carried by the Vietcong to stop bleeding and heal injuries during the Vietnam War. Yunnan Baiyao was developed in 1902 and is one of the most respected medicine companies in China. It is also a popular medicine used by vets for dogs and horses.
This is the "green box" version of Yunnan Baiyao, widely considered more potent than the "blue box," which is a formulation made for export from the same manufacturer.
Multiple studies on both human and animal patients demonstrate Yunnan Baiyao’s ability to stop bleeding and expedite healing. A 2009 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial published in the International Journal of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery found that “the total blood loss in the Yunnan Baiyao group (mean, 330.5+/-134.4 ml) was significantly lower than in the control group (mean, 420.3+/-175.9 ml).”
The formula is made from precious herbs indigenous to Yunnan, a region in the extreme south of China bordering Laos and Myanmar, and the full ingredient list is patented and unknown, but its main ingredient is San Qi, also known as Panax pseudoginseng, an herb well-known for its ability to heal cuts and hemorrhaging--an in vivo study showed San Qi can heal wounds 1.5 times faster.
This also includes one red “emergency pill” for internal use—this is also known as the trauma pill, and is used for severe/traumatic bleeding. It can be taken internally to treat shock from significant hemorrhage and alleviate pain, or crushed and applied externally to stop bleeding.
