White Tea Buds: Spring 2025 Lincang (Caffeine-Free)

$24.25

Infuse your daily ritual with the rare, delicate character of our 2025 spring-harvested white tea buds (Ya Bao 芽苞) from the Lincang region of Yunnan. Unlike ordinary white tea made from tender leaves, these are pale young tree buds, prized for their soft floral aroma, natural sweetness, and quiet, almost resinous mountain character. They are also naturally near caffeine-free.

Light, fragrant, and gently sweet, these Ya Bao offer a refined infusion that is clear, soothing, and unusually delicate. In Chinese tea culture, these buds are appreciated for their soft, calming nature and low-stimulation quality. True Ya Bao is often considered naturally caffeine-free or near-caffeine-free, making it especially suitable for those seeking the ritual of tea without the stronger stimulation of conventional tea leaves.

We age our Spring 2025 Ya Bao for one year before release to create a smoother and more balanced taste. Fresh Ya Bao can be bright, crisp, and slightly green; after a year of careful aging, those sharper notes settle, the sweetness deepens, and the infusion becomes rounder, softer, and more honeyed, with subtle notes of dried flowers, pale wood, and mountain herbs.

With its clean flavor and gentle sweetness, this tea offers a light yet grounding experience that supports clarity, relaxation, and mindful presence throughout the day.

Ideal For:

  • Those seeking a gentle, low-stimulation daily tea
  • Evening tea rituals
  • Lovers of delicate floral and honeyed teas
  • A calming tea without heaviness
  • Seasonal transitions and dry weather
  • Those sensitive to the caffeine in ordinary tea

InstructionsPlace your Ya Bao buds into a cup, then pour near boiling water (195–205°F / 90–96°C) directly over the tea. Pour out this first “rinse” after a few seconds to rinse the buds and open them up.

Re-steep and allow the tea to steep for approximately 20–30 seconds. Enjoy your tea.

Note: You can repeat the above steps and brew each serving several times, adding 20–30 seconds to each new steep.

45 grams; approximately 18–22 sessions. Each serving can be re-steeped several times, with the flavor becoming softer and more honeyed over successive infusions.
