Tea knife/needle for Pu’er cakes and bricks, which are very tightly compressed. This is an extremely strong tool with a specially designed tip and weight to separate the compressed tea with minimal damage to tea leaves—larger utensils such as kitchen knives easily break the delicate tea leaves, creating undesirable powder and residue, and the compressed tea can also damage or bend thinner knives.
Note: These are only needed for the larger Pu’er tea bricks and cakes. It is not needed for the smaller tea cakes/bricks, such as the mini Pu’er tea bricks, sticky rice mini cakes, tea bar, pearls, or tea oranges.
Instructions: Insert the tip of the tea needle into the edge of the tea cake, and gently pry into the tea until the desired amount loosens off.
