Our new Jasmine and White Tea Discs are a delicate and fragrant blend crafted from premium white tea leaves grown in the lush mountains of Yunnan, scented with fresh jasmine blossoms, creating a subtly sweet and floral aroma.
The leaves are handpicked and carefully processed to preserve their natural tenderness, then layered with jasmine flowers to absorb their enchanting scent. Only fully bloomed jasmine buds are chosen, picked at night when their fragrance is strongest. When brewed, this tea yields a pale golden liquor with a smooth, mellow taste and a lingering floral finish.
Perfect for quiet moments of relaxation, this tea offers a refreshing and soothing experience. Enjoy it hot or iced, and savor the harmonious balance of delicate white tea and the intoxicating fragrance of jasmine.
While all teas offer skin benefits, white tea stands out for its potent antioxidant profile, collagen protection, and anti-aging effects, and drinking it regularly may help promote a healthier, more radiant complexion. Several studies suggest that white tea may be particularly beneficial for improving skin due to its high concentration of antioxidants, polyphenols, and other bioactive compounds. Here are some key findings from research supporting white tea as one of the best teas for skin health:
1. Rich in Antioxidants (Fights Oxidative Stress and Aging)
A study published in Nutrition and Cancer (2009) found that white tea has higher levels of catechins, especially EGCG, compared to green tea. These compounds help neutralize free radicals linked to premature aging and skin damage. Research from The International Journal of Cosmetic Science (2009) showed that white tea extract protects skin cells from oxidative stress more effectively than other teas, helping maintain elasticity and reduce wrinkles.
2. Anti-Aging and Collagen Protection
A study by scientists at Kingston University (UK) and Neal’s Yard Remedies found that white tea extract inhibits enzymes like elastase and collagenase, which break down elastin and collagen—key proteins for youthful skin. This suggests white tea may help prevent sagging skin and fine lines more effectively than other teas.
3. Anti-Inflammatory and UV Protection
Research in Experimental Dermatology (2011) indicated that polyphenols in white tea reduce inflammation and may help protect against UV-induced skin damage when applied topically. While not a replacement for sunscreen, white tea’s compounds can support skin resilience against sun-related aging.
4. Antimicrobial and Acne-Fighting Properties
A study in Journal of Medicinal Food (2014) found that white tea has antibacterial effects against Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria linked to acne, making it useful for clearer skin.
5. Hydration and Skin Barrier Support
White tea’s polyphenols help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier, as noted in Dermatologic Therapy (2019), improving hydration and reducing sensitivity.
